The Pyramid Butterfly is a popular butterfly for reef aquariums due to its unlikeliness to pick on sessile invertebrates. It has a unique white “pyramid” on its body between bright yellow fins.
The Pyramid Butterfly is not typically aggressive toward tank mates or others of it’s own kind. They can usually be housed singly, in pairs, or in groups.
The Pyramid Butterfly is not usually a picky eater and will readily eat most meaty foods. As an omnivore it’s diet should also consist of seaweed and algae. Often HLLE (head and lateral line erosion) is associated with lack of proper amounts of seaweed in the diet of grazing fish.
